Dorks On A Plane: The Beginning

In August of 2015, my husband Topher and I traveled to Las Vegas to attend a big Star Trek convention. I took a few pictures, and posted them to my social media. The first picture was a selfie of the two of us on the flight, which for whatever reason I captioned "Dorks on a plane!" That somehow started a theme -- every trip since then, I've posted at least one "Dorks on a <insert transportation method here>" photo. So of course, when I decided I wanted to move my travel posts from social media to a blog, the name of said blog was obvious.

Dorks on a Plane -- The OG Version!

This is not going to be a blog to make money, or try to tax exempt our travel (though tempting, I don't want to work that hard!). It's just a couple middle-aged (currently) geeks who have finally reached the point where we can travel once or twice a year, combined with a woman who's OBSESSIVE ABOUT TRAVEL PLANNING and TAKES SO MANY PICTURES that some of 'em have to be posted somewhere. 😀

I'll be playing catch up for a bit, posting about past trips, and also planning for our next (which I'll share details about once it's less tentative). I'll also probably post about the planning process itself: for me, that's half the fun, so if it is for you too -- or if you hate it so want to just read someone else's plans instead! -- hopefully those will be of use for you.

(Bonus fun: as I play catch up with older trips, you'll get to watch my hair get lighter and lighter as I try less to cover and more to blend my gray! What color is it naturally? I have no idea! It also went from straight to wavy as it lightened -- mystery hair! In addition, I had a medical crisis in 2018 and improved my fitness a couple years after that once I was able to, so you'll hopefully see those changes as well.)
